SKA MUSIC
In the Philippines, ska music is not yet common or it has not hit the mainstream yet, that is only based on my opinion and I don't have any statistical proof to it. In this blog I wanna discuss a little bit about ska music. Ska music originated in Jamaica in the late 1950s and a precursor to rocksteady and reggae, see more info. in this link (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ska).
In relation to my life, I have been listening and enjoying to ska music since I was in high school. Before I don't really like it because I was not used to listen to music with wind instrument, I was more on "pop punk rock" style. But when I started to listen to the band Reel Big Fish (picture shown above) I became curious and started to like it because of its unique sound. I then let my classmates and friends listen to it and share to them this type of music.
How I wish that I could catch up one their shows and have a picture with them.
John Christian (Trumpet) and Matt Appleton (Sax)
I really wish to be in a Punk ska band and hit the stage!
